Gossip blog MediaTakeout claims the friendship between New Jersey Nets co-owner Jay-Z and LeBron James has become “strained” ever since the NBA star’s big “Decision” to join the Miami Heat.
According to the website, James blew off Jay-Z’s calls during the days leading up to his announcement, when the free agent met with a flurry of teams in an all-out war to sign him.
Meanwhile, the New York Daily News is quoting a source who says Jay-Z is “pissed, or at least disappointed, that LeBron didn’t consult with him.”
James has received plenty of criticism since he announced his decision in a widely criticized special on ESPN titled “The Decision.” Hall of Famers Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan all say they would have handled the announcement differently.
